To All Our Valued Customers

The government's most recent advice amounts to a UK wide lock down of people and most businesses. There is, however, specific parts of the retail sector that can continue to trade, as they are classed as "essential services" and bikes stores fall into this category.

The health & safety of our staff and customers are our highest priority, however we also realise that cycling indoors on trainers and outdoors in the clean fresh air is being encouraged by the government as it brings in significant benefits to our health and mental wellbeing in these extraordinary times. We also understand that many essential workers may well be commuting to work by bicycle and may need servicing or repair services to continue to do so.

After much consideration and considering all aspects of current government advice, we have decided to dramatically change our trading policy with immediate effect.

Our independent store on Team Valley, Gateshead will firstly change it hours and days of operation. With immediate effect we will be open Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm, with reduced staffing levels. We will not be opening Saturdays.

Our doors will be locked and not open for casual unplanned, nonessential visits. We ask all customers to carefully consider if their cycle needs are important and if so, call the shop on 0191 3001590 and arrange an appointment. We will be accepting appointments at pre-agreed times so that our retail space will be isolated and used entirely for each individual visitor. This way we can fully control our environment and ensure we comply to the government guidelines in full, but at the same time, still offer a much restricted, but very important service for those who needs it.

All current bikes in for service will be completed and all bikes previously purchased will be prepared for collection; you will be contacted when your bike is ready. This means that any customers with existing commitments can arrange an appointment and get their serviced or new bike.

We have introduced increased sanitation measures within store to ensure any visitors and staff are protected. All visitors will be required to wash hands on entry. All common surfaces are being cleaned and sanitised between each appointment and all display bikes are being regularly cleaned. We will follow all government guidelines in this regard.

I’m sure you will appreciate the consideration that has gone into this decision and place some value on the bespoke scaled down, specialist service being offered. We will keep you updated of any changes to this policy as and when they occur.

Stay safe & healthy
