At Team Cycles, we’re always on the lookout for cutting-edge tech in the cycling world. This year, some of the biggest brands have truly outdone themselves. Here’s a sneak peek at the latest news at Team Cycles and around the cycling world.

More shop changes at Kielder Forest!
Our Kielder Forest shop is constantly evolving to bring you the best products, and these first few months have made one thing clear…we need to expand even further! We’re excited to introduce the Team Cycles Kielder Forest Convenience Store.
Alongside our wide range of cycling gear, you’ll now find everyday essentials like bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables all under one roof. We’ve also added a new freezer stocked with delicious Mackie’s ice cream and a fridge filled with the best refreshments on the north side of the water.
And that’s not all, you can now grab your lottery tickets in-store! In fact, here’s our social media guru capturing one of our latest lucky customers for the ‘gram.

Cube’s Rubik’s Edition Road Bike

For those who love both cycling and puzzles, Cube has unveiled the Rubik’s Edition Road Bike. This color-changing masterpiece alters its frame color every time you shift gears, ensuring that no two rides ever look the same. But here’s the challenge, only those who can solve a full Rubik’s pattern mid-ride will unlock the bike’s turbo mode.
– SRAM’s Infinite Gear System vs. Shimano’s Voice-Controlled Shifting
Cyclists have long debated SRAM vs. Shimano, but now the competition has reached new heights. SRAM’s Infinite Gear System eliminates traditional cassettes, offering an unlimited number of seamless micro-adjustments for the perfect cadence. Meanwhile, Shimano is introducing Voice-Controlled Shifting, where riders simply say, “Shift up!” or “Climb mode engaged!” to command their drivetrain. Rumor has it, whispering “Turbo” might just give you an extra power boost.
Rapha’s Scent-Infused Apparel
Ever wanted your ride to smell as good as it feels? Rapha’s Scent-Infused Kit takes performance wear to the next level, releasing subtle aromas based on your effort. A casual spin triggers fresh mountain air, while sprinting hard activates an espresso scent to keep you motivated. We just hope the post-ride laundry doesn’t include Eau de Turbo Trainer…

COMING SOON: GoPro’s TurnBack Camera
Forget ride data. GoPro’s latest innovation, the TurnBack Camera Software, lets you relive your favorite rides in real-time. Simply download the software onto your GoPro, mount it to your bars, select a past ride, and suddenly, you’re back in that golden summer evening descent or nailing that KOM attempt. Just be careful as early testers report that trying to edit out a crash might send you back too far.
These revolutionary products are set to completely change the cycling world… or at least provide a good laugh this April 1st. Stay tuned for more (totally serious) updates from Team Cycles!
