The UK’s longest official mountain bike trail has officially opened and Team Cycles was at the heart of the action.

Riders met at Team Cycles Kielder Forest Shop & Hire on Tuesday (May 6) before heading up together to the top of Deadwater Fell for the official opening of the newly revamped Deadwater Trail.
Officially opened by MTB legends Manon Carpenter and Adam Brayton, the trail marks a huge moment for UK mountain biking. Built by trail specialists Architrail Velosolutions, the new route adds serious riding firepower to the area—with 10.5km of riding, including a brand-new 650m red grade descent and 565m of upgraded black grade trail.
Forestry England’s Alex MacLennan, who’s been leading the vision for over 20 years, described it as the realisation of a long-held dream: “This has been a 20-year vision to put in the longest mountain bike trail in England, from the top of Deadwater down to the bottom.”

From the summit, the views are nothing short of incredible—stretching across Kielder Forest, the North Pennines, and into the Scottish Borders.
